Bangalore - Ooty Trip [Day 3]

New day with little bit of tiredness. The climate was very chilling; we went out to have the ooty special tea. After completing our breakfast while coming back to cottage. We thought of visiting Avalanche Dam which was located at a distance of 25 km from ooty. A place that should not be missed. A dam called Canada dam is seen here. However this place is not open for tourist, we manage to take permission from forest department for 30 min. View at Avalanche Dam was very beautiful. May be it was the right time to visit. Early morning with drizzling weather and fog made that place a memorable one.

With unforgettable memory we came back.  After taking bath we stepped out to the left out places in ooty like Botanical Garden and Rose Garden. The Botanical garden is very near to Ooty town. The Garden is very beautiful and is a must see place. We spent the 2-3 hrs walking every nook and corner of this beautiful place.

Then we moved to our next destination “Rose Garden”. We reached Rose Garden with lot of expectation to see different kind of Roses. But our whole expectation went into vein when we was the entire garden was cleared up for some upcoming festival. We could find roses in bits of pieces. Well nothing bad, we tried to get something better from that unexpected situation. We manage to find some good bloom, We clicked in that drizzling weather and move on.

Then we went to Ooty city market. Ooty can justly be proud of its local chocolates. The best ones are still turned out by King Star Bakery, established by Late Thambuswamy formerly a baker with Boughton Bakery. Today there are many rivals in the business making “fresh Ooty chocolates,” but none have come anywhere near “King Star” products.

This outlet opens only at mid-noon or nearly about 11 am and its chocolates are sold out almost by 2pm. So we can assume how good these chocolates could be. By 3 pm we came back to cottage. Took our bags and moved toward Coonoor. We thought if we will get chance we will visit Sims Park at Coonoor. Coonoor is about 20 km from Ooty town. The drive to Coonor was exciting , the roads are good but with lot of bends and curves. Coonoor drive looked like a small downhil drive from Ooty. We reached Sims park , the park cannot be compared to Botanical Garden.
