Bangalore - Ooty Trip [Day 4]

We started 0700 from Salem, without breakfast move, thought we will have something on the way. From the outskirts of Salem to Bangalore we encountered not one pothole, speed breaker or roadblock. I was in 4th gear with the throttle fully open for quite a long time though the cross winds ensured I could only do a max of 104 kmph. More stops for pictures and we were back in Bangalore by 1300.
We had nice weekend holiday at Oooty even though we missed some attractions. Attached are some of the photos for which I took more care not to personalize.

Bangalore - Ooty Trip [Day 3]

New day with little bit of tiredness. The climate was very chilling; we went out to have the ooty special tea. After completing our breakfast while coming back to cottage. We thought of visiting Avalanche Dam which was located at a distance of 25 km from ooty. A place that should not be missed. A dam called Canada dam is seen here. However this place is not open for tourist, we manage to take permission from forest department for 30 min. View at Avalanche Dam was very beautiful. May be it was the right time to visit. Early morning with drizzling weather and fog made that place a memorable one.

Bangalore - Ooty Trip [Day 2]

I know you must be wondering the above is taken from Pulsur website and i will say NO, do you know why because its me and Manish in the above pic which was beautifully taken by Stanly. Oh i think i am getting off the track let me get back. With lot of enthu and having a terrible night fighting with bed bugs, which didn’t let me sleep but I manage to take some rest and we started from Mysore early morning after a cup of tea towards Mysore -Ooty road. On the way we took breakfast on a highway dhaba and proceeded to Gundlupet. The road was good and is a one-way state highway. It is possible to go at high speeds in these roads, but special care needs to be taken while overtaking and reaching small towns (humps without warning can shake your vehicle!).

Bangalore - Ooty Trip [Day 1]

I thought it will be helpful to write a blog for my trip to some of those who wish to plan a trip to Ooty from Bangalore either by bike or car. It was a team of 6 people. Best thing about this trip was Place of stay like hotels and cottage was booked prier we started the journey, so that we don’t face problems in locating a decent accommodation and the placed that we visited was completely unplanned. None of us had any expectation that once we reach ooty we will see only these places. I tried to search the net for some experiences but all those could not give me a confidence and some of them even discouraged me to go ahead with the trip. The fear was due to descriptions of a dense forest, wild animals and hill driving especially with hair-pin bends.
